Getting the best out of your practice…….
Here are some helpful things to help you get the best out of your yoga practice with Eildon Yoga:
Remember to sign in at the start of each class
If this is your first class, you will have completed a New Student Form on booking, but please let the teacher know if anything has changed since you booked
Come 5 mins before class to get onto your mat, settled and breathing
Bring blankets, cushion, warm cosy socks, jumper if you want the best shavasana
Bring some water, but it will be available in the kitchen
Find a space in the room where you feel you will hear, see and be able to follow the teacher
Say Hi to your fellow “yogi’s” - it may be their first time!
Let the teacher know if you have any new injuries or areas you want to avoid working with
Feel free to take alternatives to any asana offered - a simple child’s pose will do the trick
Feel free to provide feedback on the class, this will help planning for future classes
What’s it all about….
Vinyasa - to place in a special way
Yoga practice as expressed in the Yoga Sutra is an action referred to as Vinyasa Krama: krama is the step, ‘nyasa means “to place” and Vi means “in a special way”. The concept of vinyasa krama tells us it is not enough to simply take the step: that step needs to take us in the right direction and be made in the right way”
