Eildon Yoga began as a result of many years of practice, exploration and acceptance of being able to “be” more and “do” less.
Now Eildon Yoga wants to share the experience with others, dispelling the myth that if it looks a certain way it must be “good yoga” - the traditions of yoga are strong, deep and practiced extensively in many shala’s (the yoga home) in Scotland.
Eildon Yoga aims to give the space, time and opportunity for more people to experience emotional and physical benefits of movement following breath.
Eildon Yoga is grateful for the support, mentoring and training provided by amazing yogis in Scotland and from each of them she has taken something different, unique and treasured.
A Place to Be………
“Do Less Be More”
Eildon Yoga has its “home” at the base of the three Eildon Hills. Steeped in history, they have shaped the lives of countless generations who have lived in and around them - captured in song, poetry, art. We can still feel their presence in the remains of the Roman Fort of Trimontium.
The natural habitats of the Eildon Hills make for easy access to the benefits of nature: the rich birdlife, lush woodland and reflective lochans: time spent on the Eildons is a workout for mind, body and soul.
Eildon Yoga takes its inspiration, values and nourishment from these hills and aims to bring the reflection and learning to the mat.
““does this practice let you “see” thoughts, let go of pre-conceived beliefs and develop new patterns of thinking? If the answer is Yes, then you can be satisfied that it is Yoga and not gardening””
Andrea, aka Eildon Yoga, has had her own journey as a student and continues to be one each time she steps on the mat. But yoga practice, the philosophy and approach has enabled her to explore all manner of things connected to life, life stages, ego, attitude, dealing with loss and to approach life with compassion, kindness and grace.
Andrea graduated in June 2024 and is now an Yoga Alliance Accredited Yoga Teacher (YTT200hrs)
